West Ham's Payet And Oxford Get FIFA Upgrades
With a new season comes a new FIFA. As usual there are going to be arguments about which player gets what rating, but it looks as though two West Ham players have fared pretty well in the new edition with upgrades.
Dimitri Payet
The French super star was always going to have a higher rating after his storming performances last season. Last season he was rated as 81, but there were definitely areas to improve upon. So far we have only seen the headline rates, with the individual parts of the ratings yet to be revealed.
We’ve seen a big increase in passing, dribbling and little in the physical sections. I would expect the passing increase to come from free-kicks and the fact he was creating chances left right and centre all the way through the season against every level of opposition.
He’s ranked in the top 50 players across the entire game, which is a fair representation of his talent. As you can see from below he’s also in the top 20 Premier League players (above Coutinho…)

However, as always, there is always some things that aren’t going to be happy about some things…
Yeah, okay, @EASPORTSFIFA, Payet is a better passer than Messi?? This has to be a joke. pic.twitter.com/39uvifXFbZ

More from Green Street Hammers - West Ham
Well I’m not going to complain, but then it is a game. If you’ve found time to get angry about that your life is probably too good anyway.
Reece Oxford
West Ham’s young starlet has also received an upgrade in the new game, but not in initial rating.
As a young player the biggest attribute of FIFA is the way he will grow. It was tough to spot who was going to grow the most, and it is also a hugely debatable number because we are talking about how good he will be in 7/8 years, not next year or now. There is a lot that could change.
However it seems that Oxford’s obvious talent has been recognised, with the following announcement.

He will start as an initial 66 and grow to at least 86, a huge badge of honour. Considering he has not featured much at the top level yet there is clearly a lot to come and hopefully we’re not looking back in a few years thinking what a mistake it was to rate him so highly.
Any disagreements with these ratings? Should Payet be even higher? Or is it based too much on one good season and should it be lower? Let us know in the comments below.
