U.S. Open champion Sam Stosur reached the semifinals at the French Open for the third time in four years, beating 15th-seeded Dominika Cibulkova of Slovakia 6-4, 6-1 on Tuesday.

The sixth-seeded Stosur has won all 10 sets she's played this year at Roland Garros, where she was the runner-up in 2010 and reached the semifinals in 2009.

Serving while trailing 1-0 in the second set, Stosur faced three break points at love-40. But she won 13 of the next 14 points to take complete control and wound up winning the match's last six games.

Cibulkova, at 5-foot-3 (1.61 meters) the shortest player in the top 100, upset No. 1 Victoria Azarenka in the fourth round. Cibulkova was a French Open semifinalist in 2009.
