Angela Hill expected to face Jessica Andrade at UFC 207
Former "Ultimate Fighter" competitor and current Invicta Fighting Championships strawweight champion Angela Hill is expected to return to the Octagon to face Jessica Andrade at UFC 207 in Las Vegas.
The rumored bout first surfaced on Twitter on Wednesday after Maryna Moroz reportedly withdrew from the bout that was expected to take place on Dec. 30.
Sources close to the situation confirmed the new bout to FOX Sports on Wednesday with verbal agreements in place for the strawweight matchup.
Hill joined the UFC with very little pro mixed martial arts experience and was fed to the wolves with two of her first three fights in the promotion coming against top-five ranked strawweights.
She was released following a loss to Rose Namajunas, but quickly signed with Invicta FC where Hill debuted earlier this year.
Since that time, Hill has reeled off four straight victories while also capturing the Invicta FC strawweight title, which she just recently defended in November. Now Hill is returning to the UFC with a lot more experience under her belt with a chance to make a huge impact in December.
Andrade has gone 2-0 since moving to strawweight, including finishes over former title contender Jessica Penne and most recently a submission over Joanne Calderwood.
A win over Hill could position Andrade for a potential title shot against current strawweight queen Joanna Jedrzejczyk. First things first, Andrade has to get past Hill in December, which will be no easy task.
