Bethe Correia gets Shayna Baszler at UFC 176 in Los Angeles
One down, three to go.
Bethe Correia defeated Jessamyn Duke just a couple of weeks ago at UFC 172, and after the fight was over the Brazilian held up four fingers before lowering one while staring down at her opponent's corner outside the Octagon.
The move signified a call out of Duke's teammates, who as a group are named 'The Four Horsewomen', a play on words from the famous professional wrestling faction known as 'The Four Horsemen'.
Now Correia will get the chance to knock off another member of the team as she's now scheduled to face veteran fighter Shayna Baszler at UFC 176 in Los Angeles on August 2.
Baszler will finally make her UFC debut after appearing on The Ultimate Fighter season 18 alongside her future friend and coach Ronda Rousey. The former Strikeforce and Invicta competitor was expected to debut at the TUF Nations finale in April, but an injury forced her off the card.
Now Baszler will fight an undefeated Brazilian, who personally called out the entire team when she beat Duke at UFC 172.
The UFC has yet to announce a bout order for the upcoming card as more fights will be booked in the coming weeks, but there's no doubt Correia vs. Baszler will be a grudge match in the women's bantamweight division.
