Hall replaces Carneiro, to face Mousasi in Japan on Sept. 27

Following a win in Nashville, Tenn., less than two weeks ago, Uriah Hall will step up on short notice to replace Roan Carneiro at UFC Fight Night on Sept. 27 in Japan where he faces Gegard Mousasi in the co-main event.

UFC officials announced the switch on Wednesday evening.

Hall defeated Oluwale Bamgbose, who was a late replacement on the Aug. 8 card in Nashville, and when the UFC came calling to ask Hall to take another fight, he didn't hesitate.

Hall has faced an up-and-down run since making it to the finals on "'The Ultimate Fighter" season 17, but he's recently won four out of his last five fights. Now, he faces a legitimate top-10 middleweight for his next bout.

Mousasi has long been considered an elite fighter in both the light heavyweight and middleweight divisions. He will enter the bout against Hall on a two-fight win streak as he climbs the rankings at 185 pounds.

UFC Fight Night in Japan will be headlined by heavyweights Josh Barnett and Roy Nelson, who will face off in a five-round bout.
