Mark Hunt opens as betting favorite over Brock Lesnar at UFC 200
Following the announcement that Brock Lesnar would return at UFC 200, his opponent Mark Hunt has opened up as a solid favorite over the former heavyweight champion.
According to the odds makers at Bookmaker.eu, Hunt was instilled as a -195 favorite with Lesnar as the underdog at +166.
It means to win $100 on Hunt, you'd have to bet at least $195 and if you bet $100 on Lesnar and he won, you'd win $166.
Lesnar returns to action at UFC 200 after a five-year hiatus from the sport following his last fight against Alistair Overeem in December 2011.
Following that loss, Lesnar retired from the sport and returned to his previous job at WWE as one of the top professional wrestlers in the world.
About 15 months ago at the tail end of his last deal with the WWE, Lesnar considered a comeback to fighting but ultimately decided to forgo another run with the UFC and signed a new long term deal with the wrestling outfit.
On Saturday night, the UFC announced that Lesnar would be returning to the Octagon as the co-main event for the historic card on July 9 and on Monday, Hunt was confirmed as his opponent.
Hunt is a very dangerous fighter to face Lesnar in his return, especially considering his vicious brand of one-punch knockout power.
Most recently, Hunt has dispatched former heavyweight champion Frank Mir and former title contender Antonio "Bigfoot" Silva in back-to-back contests. Hunt now has six victories in the UFC coming by way of knockout or TKO.
The 42-year old combat sports veteran will look to add Lesnar's name to his resume when the two square off at UFC 200 on July 9 in Las Vegas.
