Rafael dos Anjos vs. Jason High set for UFC Albuquerque show

Published Apr. 30, 2014 9:16 a.m. ET

Rafael dos Anjos won't wait long to try to find his way back into the win column. The Brazilian lightweight who saw his five-fight win streak snapped just two weeks ago, has agreed to step back into the octagon on June 7, where he'll face Jason High at the upcoming UFC Fight Night event in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

The UFC confirmed the pairing on Wednesday morning.

dos Anjos saw his recent surge cut off by Khabib Nurmagomedov in a unanimous decision loss at the UFC on FOX: Werdum vs. Browne show. Just prior to that, he'd defeated perennially ranked Donald Cerrone. dos Anjos (20-7) still finds himself in the division's top 10, currently at No. 8.

His opponent High will be making his 155-pound debut. The move comes as something of a surprise since he has won two straight in the UFC and eight of his last nine overall. His octagon victories have come over James Head and Anthony Lapsley. High (18-4) hadn't competed since last November.

The UFC Fight Night show in Albuquerque will be headlined by another lightweight battle, this one between former champ Benson Henderson and No. 15 Rustam Khabilov. The co-main also pits lightweights, with Diego Sanchez facing Ross Pearson. The event takes place at Tingley Coliseum.
