“Super” Sage Northcutt is officially moving back to lightweight after losing his second professional fight last Saturday at UFC Fight Night in Sacramento.

Northcutt made the announcement on Twitter while also apologizing to fans for getting choked out by Mickey Gall in the second round of their co-main event bout.

“Sorry I didn't win,” Northcutt said in the post. “I'll be going back down to my real weight class 155lbs! Thanks for the support and to all that came out to watch.”

The bout against Gall was Northcutt’s second UFC fight at 170-pounds. And just like the first time, he was finished with a choke in the second-round.

The 20-year-old fighter out of Katy, Texas has seen much better results at lightweight, where he’s amassed a 3-0 record, including two wins by way of finish.

No telling when Northcutt intends on returning to the Octagon, but when he does, it won’t be at welterweight.
