See the scorecards from Nate Diaz vs. Conor McGregor 2
Conor McGregor won a majority decision Saturday night at UFC 202 against Nate Diaz, avenging his only loss inside the Octagon.
The bout was a hard-fought, back-and-forth battle that some on social media even scored in favor of Diaz. But the only scoring that matters in professional fighting is that of the three judges sitting cageside. Check out how each of them scored Diaz vs. McGregor
Judges Jeff Mullen and Derek Cleary had virtually identical scorecards, both 48-47 in favor of McGregor. Mullen and Cleary saw McGregor take rounds 1, 2 and 4, while Diaz won rounds 3 and 5. McGregor bloodied Diaz up in the opening round, prompting Mullen to note that Diaz had a, “cut eye and nose from strikes.”
The third judge, Glenn Trowbridge, scored the fight a draw. Trowbridge gave Diaz and McGregor the same respective rounds that Cleary and Mullen did, however, he saw Diaz as much more dominant in the third round, which he scored a 10-8.
