Allie Quigley wins WNBA honor as best coming off the bench
Chicago Sky guard Allie Quigley earned WNBA Sixth Woman of the Year honors Sunday.
Quigley garnered 26 votes from the 38-member national media panel of sportswriter and broadcasters. She averaged 11.2 points, nearly 7.5 points more a game than she had last season.
''It's a surreal moment,'' said Quigley. ''I think about all the hard work it took to get here and I know I couldn't have made it without my teammates, coaches, and family. They've supported me all year and always have my back.''
The DePaul graduate scored in double figures in 21 games, including two 20-plus point efforts. She shot 88 percent from the free throw line and 39 percent from behind the 3-point arc.
Jia Perkins of San Antonio was second with six votes, Atlanta's Shoni Schimmel was third with four and the Stars' Danielle Adams received the other two votes.
