Ibis, Ekmark lead No. 16 Arizona State women past USC 68-59

TEMPE, Ariz. (AP) — Kianna Ibis led a balanced attack with 11 points, leaving her one point shy of 1,000 for her career, and No. 16 Arizona State defeated Southern California 68-59 on Sunday.

Courtney Ekmark also scored 11 for the Sun Devils (14-6, 5-4), who had 10 of 11 players score. The only two players who played less than 10 minutes, Jayde Van Hyfte and Jamie Ruden, both had seven points in seven minutes.

Mariya Moore had 19 points for the Trojans (11-8, 1-7) and Aliyah Mazyck added 1.

USC hit just 5 of 23 3-pointers. Four came in the first quarter when the Trojans took an 18-14 lead. Five different players scored for the Sun Devils in a 10-0 run early in the second quarter that gave ASU the lead for good at 27-20.

The Trojans kept the deficit to six or less through the third quarter, but in the fourth quarter they went 3 of 17 from the field and Arizona State went 10 of 14 from the foul line. There were 19 fouls and 26 free throws in the last 10 minutes.
