Louisville guard Yacine Diop out with left knee injury
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) — Louisville guard Yacine Diop will miss the rest of this season after tearing her left anterior cruciate ligament against No. 19 Arizona State.
Diop was injured in the first minute of Friday's 58-56 semifinal victory at the Southpoint Shootout in Las Vegas. Women's basketball spokesman Nick Evans says the program will evaluate eligibility options for Diop, a graduate transfer from Pittsburgh. She averaged 6.3 points and 4.3 rebounds in four games with two starts for the No. 5 Cardinals (5-0).
The 5-foot-10 Senegal native redshirted during the 2016-17 season with an injury before returning to lead the Panthers in scoring (15.7 points per game) and rebounding (6.4) last year. Diop left Pitt at 18th place in career scoring with 1,093 points.
