No. 20 Texas A&M women beat Jacksonville 73-53

COLLEGE STATION, Texas (AP) — Chennedy Carter scored 22, N'dea Jones and Ciera Johnson each had double-doubles, and No. 20 Texas A&M beat Jacksonville 73-53 on Sunday night.

The Aggies (2-0) scored 28 fourth-quarter points and had their largest lead at 69-43 with 3:20 to play.

Jones had 11 points and 14 rebounds and Johnson added 11 points and 10 boards. Kayla Wells added 12 points.

Texas A&M never trailed after surrendering the opening basket and led by as much as 13 in the first quarter.

The Dolphins (1-1) cut the deficit to 27-22 early in the third quarter, but the Aggies answered with a 12-0 run to extend their lead to 39-22 and mostly led by double digits from there.

Kiara Meeks had 22 points on 9-of-14 shooting for Jacksonville. The rest of the Dolphins shot 14 of 47 (30 percent).
