CHICAGO (AP) Chicago State set a Division I women's record with its 59th consecutive loss, falling 59-43 to Grand Canyon on Saturday.

Chicago State (0-23, 0-8 WAC) broke the mark set by Brooklyn from 1987-89. The Cougars have not won since an eight-point victory over Seattle on Feb. 4, 2016. They dropped the final seven games that season and went 0-29 a year ago.

Chicago State declined to make players and coach Angela Jackson available after the game. The Cougars visit Utah Valley on Thursday.

Tyeshia Bowers scored 17 points for Chicago State, which still has a ways to go to match the longest losing streak by an NCAA women's team. Division III Schreiner dropped 83 straight from 2002-05.
