Jankoska, No. 23 Michigan State women beat Georgia 66-45
EAST LANSING, Mich. (AP) Tori Jankoska made four 3-pointers and finished with 20 points, and No. 23 Michigan State beat Georgia 66-45 on Wednesday night.
Michigan State had a 30-9 lead early in the first quarter, but Georgia closed the half on a 14-3 run to make it 33-23. The Spartans went scoreless for seven-plus minutes during the stretch.
Michigan State opened the second half on a 12-4 run to pull ahead 45-27 and Georgia was held scoreless for the first three-plus minutes of the fourth quarter.
Branndais Agee added 14 points for Michigan State (2-0) and Morgan Green had a career-best 11 points with 10 rebounds and seven assists.
Shacobia Barbee was held to 13 points on 5-of-15 shooting for Georgia (1-1). She recorded the Bulldogs' third all-time triple-double in their season opener against Stetson.
It was the first loss for new Georgia coach Joni Taylor.
