Mitchell's 31 points leads No. 5 Ohio State over Rutgers

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) Kelsey Mitchell scored 31 points as No. 5 Ohio State beat Rutgers 90-78 on Sunday.
The Buckeyes (12-3, 4-0 Big Ten) shot 60 percent (9 for 15) from the floor in the first quarter while holding the Scarlet Knights to 21 percent (4 for 19).
Ohio State led by as many as 18 points in the second quarter, but Rutgers pulled to 43-34 by halftime.
The Scarlet Knights got within eight early in the second half, but that was as close as it would get.

Ameryst Alston scored 21 points for Ohio State and Alex Hart added 17 points and eight rebounds.
Tyler Scaife led Rutgers (11-5, 2-2) with 27 points while Kahleah Copper had 19 points and 11 rebounds. Rachel Hollivay had 10 rebounds for the Scarlet Knights.
