No. 12 Duke women rout Western Carolina 84-47

DURHAM, N.C. (AP) Azura Stevens scored 21 points with 10 rebounds and No. 12 Duke routed Western Carolina 84-47 on Tuesday night.

Stevens was 9 of 13 from the floor with three assists and three of Duke's eight blocked shots. Rebecca Greenwell and Oderah Chidom both scored 13 points. The Blue Devils (10-3) shot over 58 percent (31 of 53) and outrebounded the Catamounts 49-30. Duke survived 27 turnovers in the lopsided win.

Western Carolina (3-9) was led by Ace Easter with 13 points and five rebounds. The Catamounts shot just over 26 percent and made 5 of 21 3-point attempts.

Duke raced out to a 14-5 lead and closed the first quarter on an 11-3 run to lead 25-11 after one and 40-27 at intermission.

It got worse for Western Carolina after the break as Duke outscored the Cats 22-10 in both the third and fourth quarters.
