Peterson leads No. 20 Syracuse women past Stony Brook 64-49

SYRACUSE, N.Y. (AP) Alexis Peterson scored 18 points on 7-for-14 shooting to lead No. 20 Syracuse to a 64-49 win over Stony Brook on Sunday.

Briana Day added 15 points and Brittney Sykes had 10 for Syracuse (5-2), which shot just 37 percent from the field but forced 20 turnovers and was 16 of 22 from the line. Day also had seven rebounds and five blocks.

Syracuse trailed 25-23 at the half but took control after the break, taking a 55-39 lead with a 10-0 run fueled by Day and Brianna Butler. The Orange held a double-digit advantage the rest of the way.

Ogechi Anyagaligbo paced Stony Brook (4-4) with 17 points and nine rebounds. Brittany Snow added 12 points for the Seawolves, who controlled the boards 43-38 but hit just 1 of 14 from 3-point range.
