Records fall as No. 18 Cal women beat Sacramento St. 117-99

BERKELEY, Calif. (AP) Kristine Anigwe scored a career-high 43 points, No. 18 California set a school scoring record in a 117-99 victory over Sacramento State on Sunday, and the losing Hornets broke their own NCAA mark for 3-point attempts with 80.

The Bears (6-2) broke their scoring record of 115 points set against Southern California in March 1989. They shot 69.3 percent from the field, making 52 of 75 shots.

The Hornets (1-5) broke their own NCAA record of 58 3-point attempts set in November 2014 against San Diego State. Sacramento State made 19 3-pointers and was 37 of 112 overall, coming up short of the NCAA mark of 118 field-goal attempts.

Cal put up only two 3-pointers, making one. Anigwe, 18 of 24 from the field, also had 13 rebounds.

Taylor Brown led the Hornets with a career-high 17 points.

Cal went up by double figures early and led by as many as 30 points.
