Brock Lesnar, Paul Heyman Have Painful WWE Raw Segment (Video)
Brock Lesnar and Paul Heyman had one of WWE Raw’s most painful segments of the year, and it may not have been their faults.
For the past seven days, WWE hyped an appearance from Brock Lesnar and Paul Heyman for the October 24 episode of Raw. They would speak on Goldberg’s return from the week prior, who answered the challenge to face The Beast Incarnate at a future date.
So, around the 10:40 PM ET part of Raw, Lesnar and Heyman would appear. As expected, they received a huge reaction given that it’s Lesnar’s hometown of Minneapolis, MN.
Heyman attempted to talk about the “Goldberg” chants from last Monday, and got maybe 90 seconds of words in. “Suplex City” chants would quickly fill the venue, which saw Heyman try to point out the lone “Goldberg” chant among the thousands of people. This went on for a few painful minutes as The Advocate tried signaling out anyone chanting the name of the former WCW star. He even claimed half the arena had been saying his name, which couldn’t be further from the truth. Eventually, WWE played Lesnar’s music to end this segment.
“@Goldberg will be like Humpty Dumpty. All the chants in the world won’t be able to put Goldberg back together again.” – @HeymanHustle #RAW pic.twitter.com/5Vdf3cUykS

Everything about this fell flat, but the blame can’t be placed on Lesnar, Heyman, or the fans. It’s WWE’s fault for being tone deaf in booking this. How could they think these two would draw heat in Lesnar’s hometown? Goldberg may be popular, but not as much as when you put the former WWE World Heavyweight Champion in the Target Center. They missed the mark big time and may have hurt the momentum of this developing program.
Brock Lesnar and Goldberg will go to battle at some point. When, though? That remains to be seen.
