Chris Jericho got slammed onto thumb tacks at WWE Extreme Rules

It's been a long time since a WWE wrestler was intentionally causing his opponent to bleed, but the inaugural "Asylum match" at Extreme Rules between Dean Ambrose and Chris Jericho ended with a move straight out of the Attitude Era.

In a very long slugfest in Ambrose's cage decorated with hanging weapons, Ambrose and Jericho battered each other with everything from a kendo stick to a leather strap - and Ambrose even tried a Shane McMahon-esque jump from the top of the cage to deliver a very dangerous elbow.

The barbed-wire bat was quickly retrieved by Jericho but spent most of the match lying on the mat until Jericho stuck Ambrose in the torso and the back. Ambrose recovered and produced a secret bag of thumbtacks, which he scattered around one of the corners. Jericho evaded Ambrose's attempts to dump him on the thumb tacks, but Ambrose eventually shoved Jericho off his shoulders, causing dozens of tacks to stick to Jericho's back.
