Kofi Kingston Explains Big E's '#BlackExcellence' Tweet
After Big E posted a tweet that got negative fan reaction, Kofi Kingston gave an explanation for it.
On Monday Night Raw, Kofi Kingston, Big E, and Xavier Woods would have to win two matches to secure their place in history as WWE’s longest reigning tag team champions ever. They first had to defeat the team of Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows, and Cesaro and Sheamus. Then, the New Day had to top Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins, and Kevin Owens and Chris Jericho in the main event. It took a while during the three-hour show, but the trio was able to break Demolition’s record.
At Tuesday night’s WWE taping, Big E would post a tweet with fellow company champions Sasha Banks and Rich Swann. He hashtagged it, “#BlackExcellence,” as the five Superstars posed in front of the camera.

Well, this apparently drummed up so much negative reaction that Kingston took to Twitter to explain the meaning behind the tweet.
Here’s an excerpt from the full message:
It does not come from a place of malice, spite, or gloating. It comes from a place of joy and a place of happiness. We have a very strong sense of pride in being the Black People simultaneously holding championships in WWE. Historically in our nation, there was period in time where this would not have happened, followed by a long period of time where it became possible, but had not actually materialized. Now, we are in the time in which the possibility has become a reality.

This photo is all about five non-white WWE stars celebrating what the greatness they have achieved this year. Banks, Big E, Kingston, Woods, and Swann all have had excellent years, and nothing should take away from what they have done.
