The Miz Revived The Spirit Squad to Attack Dolph Ziggler (Video)
The Miz made everyone’s hopes and dreams come true by bringing back The Spirit Squad, a haunting moment from Dolph Ziggler’s career.
Before Nick Nemeth became Dolph Ziggler, he starred as Nicky in the old WWE stable, The Spirit Squad. This placed five developmental wrestlers into a stable, which tried to wreak havoc on Raw. They were often Vince McMahon’s goons as well. This stay didn’t last long, though, as the group got sent to OVW, the old WWE development territory.
Ziggler became the shining star from The Spirit Squad and has had a lengthy WWE career since. However, it may come to an end at the No Mercy pay-per-view on Sunday, October 9. The Showoff is putting his career on the line against The Miz for the Intercontinental Championship.
On Tuesday’s episode of SmackDown, the A-lister hosted a “Dolphumentary” segment, which highlighted the forgotten moments of Ziggler’s career. To no surprise, one part of this showed his time with The Spirit Squad.
After the video concluded, Miz brought out two members from this lowly group—Mikey and Kenny. The whereabouts of the others? Well, that’s a mystery better off unsolved. Miz even took a shot at them for being shipped off to OVW.
Mikey and Kenny would briefly beat down Ziggler, until he fired back and left them on the ground. You could say he took the “spirit” out of them.
If this was the last time we saw @HEELZiggler on #SDLive, he sure had a SPIRITED exit! @mikethemiz @MaryseMizanin pic.twitter.com/dDusnoCAJS

Back to OVW they go.
This random one-off appearance from the male cheerleaders was surprising and hilarious. They probably won’t be seen on WWE programming again, but made the most out of this random appearance. We’ll see if Johnny and Mitch look for their own grand showing.
