The financial struggles of TNA Wrestling continue amidst rumors of bankruptcy, possible buyers, and multiple lawsuits.

The financial woes of TNA are no secret. Earlier this month they received outside funding to produce their Bound for Glory pay-per-view and their current Impact episodes. Reports of lawsuits filed by several parties including Billy Corgan are rampant. Now it appears that they have fallen behind on payments to talents appearing on Impact Wrestling.

Dave Meltzer appeared for his weekly segment on the October 23rd edition of The Law: Live Audio Wrestling. Among other things, Meltzer discussed the TNA roster payment issues saying, “They’re confused and hopeful that they get their checks this week, that they didn’t get last week, when they were supposed to on the 15th (of October)“. He also discussed the issues between TNA and Corgan. Meltzer stated, “Billy Corgan had gotten an injunction last week where they (TNA) could not sell the company… and they (TNA) want him (Corgan) gone at this point.” Meltzer also noted that this injunction includes the TNA tape library, the primary interest of WWE.

This isn’t the first reports of Dixie Carter and Co. falling behind on payments to employees. It’s been a recurring problem since their departure from Spike TV. Due to the injunction by Corgan, TNA’s financial options become more limited. It is unknown if they will be able to fund their next set of Impact episodes. If they are unable to produce their television, it could be a breach of contract with POP TV.  In addition to problems regarding the company, Meltzer discussed WWE Hell in a Cell, Goldberg, and WWE Survivor Series.

These developments are disappointing for the Nashville-based company. Especially with the recent quality of their on-screen product. The Final Deletion segment with Jeff and “Broken” Matt Hardy was an innovative success. Since then, they continue to produce solid episodes of Impact Wrestling. Are these new issues signaling the end of this 14-year-old promotion? For the fans and employees of the company, let’s hope not.
