WWE announces Eva Marie has been suspended days before SummerSlam

WWE has been cleaning house this week, announcing suspensions for both Paige and Alberto Del Rio.

On Thursday, SmackDown Live superstar Eva Marie joined that list, as WWE announced she would be suspended for 30 days.

The timing is rather odd. Marie has spent the past few weeks on SmackDown ducking matches against Becky Lynch and Naomi by suffering an apparent "leg injury," dealing with a wardrobe malfunction, and getting stuck in traffic. Yes, traffic.

Marie was supposed to take part in a six-woman tag match this weekend at SummerSlam featuring Marie, Alexa Bliss and Natalya on one side versus Lynch, Naomi and Carmella in the other corner. At the time of this writing, it was unclear how Marie's suspension would affect the pay-per-view.
