WWE WrestleMania 33: Match Card Predictions 7.0; Post-Elimination Chamber
With WWE Elimination Chamber 2017 in the books, how does our WrestleMania 33 match card look for the upcoming show?
On Sunday, April 2, WWE’s WrestleMania 33 event will take place from the Camping World Stadium in Orlando, FL. This will see the biggest feuds of the year culminate in star-studded matches. All-time great moments have been made here too, including Stone Cold Steve Austin shockingly aligning with Vince McMahon in 2001 and Seth Rollins cashing in Money in the Bank in 2015.
Following the 2017 Elimination Chamber pay-per-view, the match card for WrestleMania 33 has become clearer. Bray Wyatt won the WWE Championship, so he seems set to face Randy Orton, the 2017 Royal Rumble match winner. It’s not confirmed, but seems likely to happen given their ongoing alignment on SmackDown.
Outside of this, we do have one confirmed match, as Brock Lesnar vs. Goldberg will happen one last time. This came after a challenge would be laid out to the former WCW star by Paul Heyman, setting these two up to collide. It’s unknown if this will be the main event of the show.
Nothing else has been set or a challenge made for WrestleMania 33. However, there are enough matches that have been hinted to create a card. This includes potential ones for championships, undercard bouts, and more. With seven weeks to go until the show, it’s possible some of these ideas come to fruition during this time.
So with Elimination Chamber over and WrestleMania approaching, here’s a look at our predicted match card for the show. What should be the main event?

Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal
This has become an annual match for WrestleMania. The first year saw Cesaro win and be propelled into a singles run. The Big Show followed this up by claiming the win in 2015. Then Baron Corbin debuted in 2016 and won the battle royal, sending him onto the WWE main roster.
For WrestleMania 33, this should be a given. Expect Braun Strowman to be a heavy favorite to win.
Big Show vs. Shaquille O’Neal
Big Show vs. Shaquille O’Neal hasn’t been confirmed by WWE, but has pretty much been made official by both men through social media since last summer. This won’t be the first time Show has faced an outside personality at WrestleMania, as he faced Floyd Mayweather in 2008. Can the World’s Largest Athlete defeat this NBA legend?
WWE Cruiserweight Championship MatchNeville (c) vs. Austin Aries
We noted a rumor from the Wrestling Observer about Neville vs. Austin Aries for the WWE Cruiserweight Championship being a possibility at WrestleMania 33. While not set in stone, it seems like an interesting matchup with Aries potentially making his main roster in-ring debut.

John Cena and Nikki Bella vs. The Miz and Maryse
John Cena being in a mixed tag match at WrestleMania 33? It’s unappealing, but likely, especially after the rumor from the Wrestling Observer and what happened at Elimination Chamber.
First, Nikki Bella and Natalya had a brawl backstage. This ended up inadvertently bringing Maryse into the fray, causing makeup to go all over her. She stood there shocked as these rivals battled on.
Then during the Elimination Chamber match, Cena pinned the Miz with ease after hitting the Attitude Adjustment. The hints are there to bring these “Total Divas” stars onto the WrestleMania stage, which won’t be a beloved match by those who don’t have interest in the E! reality show. But WWE seems intent on putting one of their top stars in a match to promote it.
This is also an opportunity to have Cena and Bella tag with each other for the first and only time. It would create a memory for this couple, especially if they win. “Total Divas” would probably get a boost out of this too.
This mixed tag match is still not the most interesting thing for most fans, but with a loaded card before it, maybe this won’t be the worst thing.

WWE Intercontinental Championship MatchDean Ambrose (c) vs. Baron Corbin
Baron Corbin and Dean Ambrose feuding at WrestleMania 33 didn’t get teased until Sunday night. This saw Ambrose eliminate Corbin in the Elimination Chamber while the former waited for the Miz to enter. So the Lone Wolf exploded in anger, attacking the Lunatic Fringe until he couldn’t move, allowing him to be pinned. Referees had to push Corbin out of the ring to end his warpath.
Ambrose and Corbin battling for the Intercontinental Championship at WrestleMania 33 would be a far cry from the past two years of seven-man ladder matches. This is something that could be used for the cruiserweights or the United States Championship instead. However, there’s no guarantee Ambrose vs. Corbin lasts this way until the Grandest Stage of Them All with seven weeks to go.
WrestleManai 33 would be the opportunity to move Corbin’s record at this show to 2-0, giving him his second consecutive huge win at the show. It would follow up his Andre the Giant Battle Royal victory, which turned out to be his main roster debut. Could Camping World Stadium host his latest big-time moment?

Raw Women’s Championship MatchCharlotte (c) vs. Bayley vs. Sasha Banks vs. Nia Jax
These four women have pretty much been the only ones to do anything on WWE Raw. With Alicia Fox moving to the Cruiserweight Division and Dana Brooke being off TV for most of 2017, it leaves Charlotte, Bayley, Sasha Banks, and Nia Jax as basically the entire Raw Women’s Division. All of them are getting air time, so how about them each receiving a Raw Women’s Championship opportunity at WrestleMania 33?
Charlotte and Bayley have provided the main feud here, as they battled for the title at the Royal Rumble. To continue her pay-per-view streak, the Nature Girl won. Bayley remains in the picture, though, getting another chance at the title on Raw. Don’t expect a change here, unless WWE just wants another Charlotte win at WrestleMania 33.
As for Jax and Banks, these two have had a lopsided feud for the past month with the former dominating. She defeated the Boss within minutes at the Royal Rumble, making the three-time Women’s Champion looking destructible. Tensions are far from over between them too.
So at WrestleMania 33, these women could go to battle and intertwine their feuds. Who knows, maybe a new one will result from this match?

AJ Styles vs. Shane McMahon
AJ Styles had a terrific showing at the 2017 Elimination Chamber match. He survived from the beginning to the end, taking brutal bumps along the way from every Superstar. The WWE Championship wouldn’t be reclaimed by him after losing it to John Cena at the 2017 Royal Rumble, so it seems he could be moving on.
There’s still a one-on-one title rematch due to Styles, however. The same goes for Cena. Based on this WrestleMania 33 rumor from the Wrestling Observer, though, expect Shane McMahon to be his opponent.
This isn’t going to be the match that everyone anticipates due to Styles being an in-ring general and McMahon’s specialty being high-flying stunts. Sure, the Phenomenal One could put on an instant classic with nearly anyone, but there are more inspiring opponents for him at WrestleMania 33.
We have yet to see how the Shane vs. Styles feud may be built, something that could be accelerated with Elimination Chamber out of the picture. There will be an opportunity to make this interesting because we haven’t seen what the plan is, but to combat the internet blasting of this, the Road to WrestleMania 33 will have to be memorable.

Kevin Owens vs. Chris Jericho
Kevin Owens vs. Chris Jericho may have been the most predictable WrestleMania match of them all. This has been a formality since the day these two aligned on Raw, and after Owens won the WWE Universal Championship. It solidified the friendship, as Jericho helped KO win his title defenses throughout the fall of 2016.
As of February 13, Owens and Jericho have yet to break up. However, with the former’s Universal Championship match for Fastlane being accepted by Jericho for Owens, it seemed to spark a bit of tension. The Champ didn’t appreciate being spoken for, especially with a match that he seemed to want no part of. Goldberg had been Brock Lesnar in 86 seconds at Survivor Series, so the fear of facing him is logical.
Eventually, these two are going to split, and it could happen as soon as Fastlane, especially if Goldberg defeats Owens for the title. This could outrage the former NXT star, who would take out his frustrations on the man that accepted this match for him in the first place. It sets up Owens vs. Jericho for the middle of the WrestleMania 33 match card in what should be an entertaining affair.

Roman Reigns vs. The Undertaker
Roman Reigns eliminating the Undertaker at the 2017 Royal Rumble match set this in motion. Along with the stare down afterward, this seems like a guarantee to be included as one of the top WrestleMania 33 matches on the card.
Reigns vs. Undertaker places one of the bright young stars and a legend head-to-head. It’s a match that some will say is a “dream match”, something you could only play in WWE 2K17 on Xbox One or PS4. We’ll likely never see these two compete against each other ever again after WrestleMania, so this will be a match to soak in with tens of thousands on hand to cheer (or boo) it on.
Having this match would also mean it’s the first time since 2014 that the WrestleMania main event would not have featured the Big Dog. It will be a refreshing look for the Show of Shows, even though there will be some that don’t like Reigns facing the Phenom given how high of a profile match this is. Whatever the case may be, though, it will be a spectacle.

WWE Championship MatchBray Wyatt vs. Randy Orton
From the moment Randy Orton chose to align with Bray Wyatt in October 2016, they seemed destined to split and collide once more. It didn’t look like this for a time, as Luke Harper ended up being on the outside looking in on the stable. Then came Orton’s 2017 Royal Rumble win to grant him a WWE Championship opportunity at WrestleMania 33, sending things into an intriguing direction.
Well, things also changed at the 2017 Elimination Chamber pay-per-view. Wyatt competed for and won the WWE Championship in the main event of the show. It’s his first-ever World title win, and also means he’s likely headed to WrestleMania 33 to face Orton.
To close Elimination Chamber, we saw a brief stare down between Orton and Wyatt. While WWE didn’t confirm that they will square off at WrestleMania 33 (John Cena will probably get a rematch), this seems like a sure bet to happen.
WWE.com
Brock Lesnar vs. Goldberg
Brock Lesnar vs. Goldberg is the only sure bet for WrestleMania 33. This comes after Goldberg accepted the challenge that was made by Paul Heyman.
This match will be the first time these two have met at WrestleMania since 2004, which saw the crowd boo Goldberg and Lesnar out of Madison Square Garden. This had been due to both of them leaving WWE after the show.
In November 2016, Lesnar and Goldberg received the opportunity to shake this blunder off and did so. This had the former WCW star pin the Beast Incarnate in 86 seconds in the Survivor Series main event. Then they squared off in the 2017 Royal Rumble match, leading to a similar fate for the former Next Big Thing.
The difference between these past matches is that there may be a championship on the line. Goldberg is set to face Kevin Owens for the Universal Title at Fastlane, so a win there could mean this “one last match” between he and Lesnar has higher stakes than ever. If so, then this will main event WrestleMania 33.
