WWE's AJ Styles turns heel and obliterates John Cena on Raw

15-time WWE champion John Cena made his long-awaited return to Monday Night Raw just a few months removed from shoulder surgery, and the biggest question surrounding Cena's return was where would he fit in the New Era of WWE? In one stellar segment, fans got the answer - and it might have been the best possible outcome.

Cena came out to the ring (wearing his sequined shorts given to him by Ellen DeGeneres) and remembered the nation's fallen heroes on Memorial Day with a short speech. Cena then informed the rest of the roster that it would have to go through him, but he was interrupted by rising WWE star AJ Styles - who has quickly become one of the most popular wrestlers in the company since debuting at the Royal Rumble.

The raucous crowd in Green Bay launched into a lengthy and deafening duel of "AJ Styles-Let's Go Cena" chants before Styles welcomed Cena back with a handshake. Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson - who broke apart from Styles last week - walked down the ramp and appeared to be challenging Cena and Styles to a brawl, but it was all a ruse. Styles blindsided Cena and was joined by The Club, and proceeded to deliver a lengthy beatdown to Cena on his first night back.

Styles went from arguably the biggest babyface in WWE to a heel in just a few minutes, and WWE could be setting up a Cena-Styles feud that could potentially last for months. It remains to be seen how Cena evens the odds against the Club and if both stars are drafted to the same show in the upcoming brand split - but a Cena-Styles match is a worthy headliner of any WWE event on the calendar, and along with Seth Rollins vs. Roman Reigns, Money In The Bank is becoming a must-watch.
