WWE's The Miz eviscerates Dolph Ziggler in another incredible promo
Like him or not, The Miz has consistently been one of WWE's top performers all summer long. He's held the WWE Intercontinental Championship since the night after WrestleMania, but he's really come into his own since the WWE Draft as one of the main attractions on SmackDown Live.
A few weeks ago The Miz and Daniel Bryan delivered the promo of the year on Talking Smack, where the champion responded to the claim that he's a coward by challenging Bryan to quit the WWE and return to the independent scene if he truly loves wrestling. It was a shocking segment that seemed to straddle the line between genuine real-life animosity and sports entertainment, and it led to The Miz renegotiating his contract on SmackDown.
As a result, The Miz was given a homecoming celebration Tuesday night in Cleveland, Ohio, complete with a laughably long fireworks sequence. WWE played a beautiful tribute video recapping The Miz's rise from being a Tough Enough contestant to main-eventing WrestleMania.
Dolph Ziggler, also an Ohio native, came out after The Miz called out his family in the audience -- and The Miz proceeded to bury Ziggler, the two-time heavyweight champion who hasn't won a live televised match since Aug. 9.
The Miz left the ring, quipped to Ziggler's parents standing at ringside that they "must be so proud," and walked off. It was further proof that The Miz is the absolute best heel in WWE, and no one else is particularly close.
Ziggler called The Miz back to the ring and gave a passionate, teary-eyed speech admitting that his career has hit a low -- then proposed a title vs. career match at No Mercy in two weeks.

If Ziggler wins, he'll take The Miz's Intercontinental Championship, but if The Miz wins, Ziggler will retire from WWE.
