The Vegas Golden Knights scored three goals early in the first period on their way to a convincing win over the Carolina Hurricanes, 5-1. Five different players scored for Vegas, while Jaccob Slavin scored the lone goal for Carolina. Scott Darling was pulled in favor of Cam Ward after Darling allowed three goals on eight shots in just 12:59. Marc-Andre Fleury made 27 saves for the Golden Knights.
