CIF-SS football returns to action Friday on Prime Ticket & Prep Zone
FOX Sports West and Prime Ticket, in partnership with the CIF Southern Section, announced Wednesday the television and Prep Zone streaming schedule for the 2017 high school football season.
The complete schedule includes 83 games across FOX Sports West/Prime Ticket and Prep Zone.
The lineup for Weeks 0-1 can be seen here. The remaining games will be announced on a week-t0-week basis.
Prime Ticket kicks-off the network's 21st season of covering CIF-SS football with Week 0 on Friday, Aug. 25 at 7:30p when Chaminade hosts Oaks Christian in the 'Ford CIF Southern Section TV Game of the Week.' Complementing TV coverage that night at 7p, the Prep Zone platform will feature Pittsburg (CA) at Centennial (Corona), Long Beach Poly at Los Alamitos, Edison at Tesoro and La Habra at Upland. Prep Zone games will again be available via the FOX Sports GO streaming app. For updated information on FOX Sports GO, click here.
All Prep Zone games this season will again kick-off at 7p, while all TV games are slated to begin at 7:30p, unless otherwise noted on the schedule. Returning to the broadcast booth for his 21st season, John Jackson will provide analysis, while Sam Farber begins his fourth season with FSW/PT and second in the booth with Jackson. Joining Jackson and Farber each week, Chris Rix returns to offer in-game reports, plus halftime and post-game interviews throughout the season.
Prep Zone streaming coverage will again feature Lorenzo Booker, Ralph Brown, Chris Hale and Tony Moskal rotating to provide color commentary; while Dennis Ackerman, Fred Salas, Paul Westphal and David Caldwell rotate to deliver play-by-play throughout the season.
Additional coverage this season will include 'Best of the CIF Southern Section' series as FSW/PT showcases standout athletes at their respective positions across the Southland in an on-field discussion and skill demonstration with Jackson. Each feature will debut during halftime in select TV games throughout the season. This season’s feature series follows 'The Year of the Defensive Back' in 2016, 'The Year of the Wide Receiver' in 2015 and 'The Year of the Quarterback' in 2014.
Also returning to the weekly lineup, a 'Prep Zone Encore' telecast will feature one select Prep Zone game from the week prior to air every Wednesday throughout the season on FSW or PT.
Following each week of live action, fans will again have access to the Prep Zone archives dating back to 2011 when Prep Zone first launched.
