Noelvi Marte - Ropes homer in win
Marte went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Wednesday's 4-2 loss to the Brewers.
Impact
Marte tied the game with a homer in the second inning off of Shane Drohan that just stayed fair over the left field wall. This was Marte's second time going yard in his last six games, and has hit all five of his home runs since returning back to the majors in early June. The 24-year-old has hit much better since his stint in Louisville, and has worked his way into playing right field almost everyday for the Reds.

Andrew Abbott - Control struggles in no-decision
Abbott did not factor into the decision in Wednesday's 4-2 loss to the Brewers, allowing two runs on five hits and five walks over five innings. He struck out three.
Impact
Abbott got through a tough first inning where he gave up two runs to proceed to put up a zero for the rest of his outing. The lefty walked five batters during his start, which is the most players walked in a game by Abbott all season. This contributed to a lot of traffic on the base paths as Abbott had to throw 96 pitches (only 54 strikes) to get through five innings. The 27-year-old is slated to make his next start at home against the Phillies.

JJ Bleday - Taking seat against lefty
Bleday is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Brewers.
Impact
The left-handed-hitting Bleday was included in the lineup against a lefty starter (Robert Gasser) in the series opener, but he'll head to the bench Wednesday while Milwaukee sends another southpaw (Shane Drohan) to the bump. Ivan Johnson will replace Bleday in left field in what will be his first MLB start.

Matt McLain - First career start in center field
McLain will start in center field and bat eighth in Wednesday's game versus the Brewers.
Impact
McLain played an inning in center field Tuesday after entering that contest as a pinch hitter, and now he's making his first career start at the position. If he proves capable of handling center field defensively, McLain could draw regular starts there against lefties while Blake Dunn (elbow) and Dane Myers (shoulder) are shelved.

Elly De La Cruz - Logs two hits in loss
De La Cruz batted leadoff and went 2-for-4 with a double and a run scored in Wednesday's 7-2 loss to Milwaukee.
Impact
Fresh off the injured list a week ago, De La Cruz endured a four-game stretch in which he had one hit in 14 at-bats but has turned that around. He's hit in three straight since, going 4-for-13 with a home run, a double, two RBI and three runs scored. De La Cruz has served as the leadoff hitter the last four games since Blake Dunn (elbow) landed on the injured list.

Matt McLain - Plays inning in center field
McLain entered Wednesday's game as a pinch hitter and played an inning in center field. He went 0-for-1 and caught a line drive in a 7-2 loss to the Brewers.
Impact
McLain pinch hit for center fielder TJ Friedl in the eighth inning before finishing the game in the outfield, his first time playing there as a major-leaguer. Normally an infielder, McLain did pre-game drills in the center field the last two days and could get more work in games there as the Reds cope with injuries to Blake Dunn (elbow) and Dane Myers (shoulder).

Sal Stewart - Supplies Reds' offense in loss
Stewart went 2-for-4 with a solo home run, a double and two RBI in Tuesday's 7-2 loss to the Brewers.
Impact
Stewart accounted for all of Cincinnati's offense Tuesday. In the first inning he opened the scoring with a solo homer off Brandon Sproat, and he doubled home Elly De La Cruz in the sixth to chase Sproat from the game. The young first baseman is batting .317 over his last 10 games while recording five multi-hit performances and driving in 12 runs during that stretch.

Rhett Lowder - Fans eight, tagged for six runs
Lowder (3-6) took the loss Tuesday against the Brewers, allowing six runs on 11 hits and one walk while striking out eight over 4.2 innings.
Impact
Lowder flashed electric stuff early, coming one pitch shy of an immaculate inning in the first and recording another strikeout-filled frame in the third. However, things unraveled in the fourth despite tossing just 26 pitches, as he surrendered six singles -- five consecutively -- leading to four runs. The right-hander returned for the fifth, but Jake Bauers greeted him by sending the first pitch over the fence for a solo homer. While the eight strikeouts established a new career high, so did the 11 hits allowed. Lowder has not completed six innings since April 20 and has posted a 0-5 record with a 7.22 ERA across 33.2 innings since.
