Impact Despite nearly 200 Cup Series starts of experience the sanctioning body has deemed Wallace ineligible to compete in this season's Daytona 500. He is now 65-years-old and hasn't raced at NASCAR's top level since 2015. However, Wallace has made three starts in the Xfinity Series as recently as 2020. This is a disappointing blow to both Wallace and MBM Motorsports as they were funded and positioned to attempt the Great American Race. The team will now scramble to find a replacement driver and the funding necessary to race.
