There was a controversial no call in the first half when Salem Al-Hajri took contact in the box but he wasn’t given a foul. Boulaye Dia kicked off the scoring for Senegal and netted a goal in the 41st minute. Senegal wasn’t done there as Famara Diedhiou put in a header in the 48th minute. Qatar would answer with a goal of their own by Mohammed Muntari in the 78th. Senegal would answer right back when Bamba Dieng scored in the 84th minute. Senegal would go on to win 3-1. Three goals matches the most Senegal has ever scored in a World Cup match.
