Freshman Labaron Philon drew the start in the exhibition, but it was Holloway who led the team in scoring as a reserve. Last year was an up-and-down freshman season at Auburn for Holloway, who finished with averages of 7.3 points and 2.7 assists across 35 games (26 starts).

Impact Holloway had been occupying a reserve role in Auburn's last seven games, but he returned to the starting lineup Saturday, and the decision paid off with his highest minutes total of the year and best scoring output since December. It was largely on the back of his outside shooting, as all of his made baskets came from behind the arc. That may not necessarily be sustainable given the freshman is shooting just 31.4 percent from distance this year, even after this showing.

His shooting from long range has been particularly noticeable, as he's posted a 43.8 percent clip from beyond the arc. He'll try to help guide the Tigers to their first statement win of the season after dropping their opener to Baylor.

Impact Holloway "tweaked his ankle" during Auburn's scrimmage against Furman on Oct. 29. But as expected, he will log his collegiate debut at Baylor. Holloway is a five-star recruit who averaged 18.5 points and 5.1 assists during his senior season of high school.
