Gaining attention in Gainesville Duruji has drawn praise as the "most athletic guy on our team" according to Florida assistant coach David Nichols, Kyle Tucker of The Athletic reports. Impact While the Gators still appear most likely to start Omar Payne along SEC Player of the Year candidate Keyontae Johnson in the frontcourt, it's looking more and more like Duruji will be one of the first players off the bench. The 6-foot-7 forward averaged 12.2 points and 6.2 rebounds in the 2018-19 season with Louisiana Tech, and sat out the entirety of last year due to NCAA transfer rules. He's been practicing with the Gators the entire time, however, and there's a strong implication that he's much more physically developed. Duruji will still have to hold off charges for frontcourt minutes from JUCO transfer Osayi Osifo and now-eligible Michigan transfer Colin Castleton, but the ceiling is high enough to consider the Maryland native a sleeper in SEC-only formats.
