John Hugley - Steps up in starting roleHugley ended Thursday's 107-86 win over UAPB with 15 points (6-10 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 3-3 FT), 10 rebounds, two assists and one steal across 19 minutes.
ImpactIt was the first start of the season for Hugley, who despite merely matching his season average in minutes responded with a double double. Hugley has been an impressive per-minute producer for the Sooners this year, averaging 12.0 points and 6.1 boards in just over 19 minutes per game, and it wouldn't be surprising to see the minutes begin to uptick as the season progresses.

John Hugley - Steps into starting fiveHugley is in the starting lineup for Thursday's game against Arkansas-Pine Bluff.
ImpactHugley will enter the starting lineup for the first time this season, sending Sam Godwin to the bench. The 6-10 transfer from Pittsburgh has certainly been more impactful than Godwin when on the floor, averaging 11.5 points and 5.5 rebounds in 19.2 minutes per contest thus far. Hugley showed great promise as a redshirt freshman during the 2021-22 campaign, averaging 14.8 minutes and 7.9 rebounds in just under 30 minutes per game and this could be a sign of greater things to come should head coach Porter Moser start to let him loose.
