Impact Mark has now started each of the two Arkansas exhibition games, and that, mixed with the fact he saw the most minutes of any Razorback player Friday, is enough to suggest his role is relatively secure in his first year with the program. Mark averaged 10.1 ppg last season as a secondary scoring option with Houston a season ago, and his defensive prowess should be more than enough to keep him on the court. While Arkansas will run a deeper rotation than the Cougars did, Mark should still see equal, if not greater, opportunities to boost his stats due to the up-tempo nature of the offense.

El Ellis - Makes second exhibition start Ellis had 12 points (5-10 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 1-1 FT), three rebounds and three assists across 27 minutes in Friday's 81-77 charity exhibition victory over Purdue.
Impact Few can re-tool via the transfer portal like Eric Musselman and the Arkansas Razorbacks, and that fact left Ellis with plenty of competition for the starting shooting guard spot. If the exhibition box scores are any indication of his role this season, however, Ellis appears to have the upper hand on Temple transfer Khalif Battle, though Battle did score 12 as well here across 32 minutes off the bench. Fortunately, the projected tempo of the Arkansas offense means there should be plenty of shot-making opportunities to go around.

Impact Brazile proved to be fully clear from last year's knee injury when he suited up for an October 20 exhibition against UT Tyler and chipped in four points off the bench. The competition level rose Friday, however, and Brazile's role appeared to be more reflective of what's in store for the regular season. The third-year forward moved into the starting five, where he saw a considerable minutes bump and tied Tramon Mark for the team-high in scoring. There's a tremendous ceiling here if Brazile can remain healthy in 2023-24.

Impact The Razorbacks used what looked like an experimental starting lineup in this contest, so don't look too far into the fact that projected starters such as Battle, Davonte Davis and Trevon Brazile all came off the bench. Prospective fantasy managers should get a much better idea of the rotation when the competition level steps up with another exhibition matchup against Purdue on Saturday. Regardless of his final role, however, Battle is off to a strong start to his Arkansas career, where he hopes to continue his high-volume scoring ways. Despite being limited by injuries in each of the last three seasons, Battle has posted averages of 17.9 ppg, 21.4 ppg and 15.0 ppg, all with Temple.

Impact Don't look too far into Brazile coming off the bench, as several other projected starters such as Davonte Davis and Khalif Battle served in a reserve capacity as well and even played more minutes than a few of the starters. Even if he doesn't crack the starting five, Brazile was still a major fantasy factor in his brief time as a reserve with Arkansas last year, averaging 11.8 points and 6.0 rebounds in nine games off the bench. What's largely important here, however, is that Brazile is clear of his knee injury, as he wouldn't otherwise be participating in a relatively meaningless exhibition. The Razorbacks get a much tougher preseason test against Zach Edey and the Purdue Boilermakers on Saturday, which will hopefully give fantasy managers a better idea of Brazile's expected usage.
