Norchad Omier - Leads Bears in debut Omier ended with 15 points (5-12 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 5-7 FT), nine rebounds, one block and one steal across 30 minutes during Monday's 101-63 loss to Gonzaga.
Impact Omier began his Baylor career by finishing one rebound shy of a double-double. The Bears struggled in just about every aspect Monday as Gonzaga controlled the game from the jump and even in spite of his solid final line, Omier, who has topped 55% shooting over each of the past three seasons, missed on seven of 12 shot attempts. The senior transfer from Miami has averaged a double-double during each of his previous four collegiate seasons and is expected to provide a mammoth inside presence for the Bears, who are one of the favorites in the rugged Big 12.

VJ Edgecombe - Struggles in debut Edgecombe registered four points (2-11 FG, 0-3 3Pt), seven rebounds, one assist, two blocks and one steal over 29 minutes during Monday's 101-63 loss to Gonzaga.
Impact Edgecombe had a highlight-reel dunk late once the game was well out of reach but struggled mightily otherwise as the Bears were blown out by Gonzaga. He added three turnovers to go along with his poor shooting performance, though better days are certain to be ahead for the five-star freshman.

Impact Even though Love was cleared for basketball activities in October, it seems the coaching staff decided he wasn't ready to play in this season opener. The 6-foot-5 junior averaged 11.0 points, 2.9 rebounds and 1.2 assists across 24 games this past season, and his next chance to play will come against Arkansas on Saturday. However, his health will ultimately determine his status.

Jeremy Roach - Sticking with Baylor Roach has officially withdrawn from the 2024 NBA Draft and will return to Baylor, Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports reports.
Impact Roach announced he would be transferring to Baylor after four seasons with Duke but also kept the option of the NBA Draft route in sight. The 6-foot-2 guard will finish out his final year of eligibility and withdraw from the draft alongside transfer forward Norchad Omier. Roach finished out this past season's campaign averaging 14.0 points, 2.5 rebounds, 3.2 assists and 1.1 steals on 32.7 minutes per game with the Blue Devils, and he should be a huge all-around asset for Baylor as they approach the 2024-25 season.
