Impact It looks like the Wolfpack will begin the season with the incumbent center, as Middlebrooks appeared in 41 games (three starts) for the team last year. For the time being, it appears he's beaten out Louisville transfer Brandon Huntley-Hatfield (12.9 ppg, 8.4 rpg in 2023-24) for the role, but look for Huntley-Hatfield to be one of the first forwards off the bench.

Impact Middlebrooks was one of the best players for the reigning ACC champions in their NCAA Tournament opener, leading all scorers and filling out the stat sheet despite logging just 23 minutes off the bench. Middlebrooks, who also played a big role in the ACC Tournament, should remain a reliable scorer for the Wolfpack throughout the entire Tourney.

Records double-double in loss Middlebrooks racked up 12 points (2-5 FG, 8-10 FT), 10 rebounds, one assist and one steal over 16 minutes during Tuesday's 87-83 loss to Syracuse.
Impact Middlebrooks recorded his second double-double of the season, and perhaps as a coincidence, both have come in games where the big man has played off the bench. Middlebrooks scored in double digits for the first time since Jan. 16, however, and his inconsistency, both in terms of production and playing time, certainly limits his fantasy upside.

The 6-foot-10 junior has appeared in all 19 games this season (two starts), averaging 5.5 points, 3.9 rebounds, 0.8 steals and 0.5 blocks on 14.5 minutes per game, Middlebrooks will look to make an impact with his expanded role Saturday.
