Won't play Sunday Shaver (foot) is not dressed for Sunday's game against Weber State but has shed the walking boot he was wearing earlier in the week, Rachel Roberts of the Idaho Statesman reports.

Impact Shaver has been battling with a lingering foot injury that forced him to exit the win over College of Idaho on Dec. 4. Shaver was using a walking boot to relieve some of the weight off his foot but was seen Sunday without the boot which could entail that he'll begin to ramp up his productivity in workouts this coming week.

Impact Shaver was slated to play in this matchup, but it's reported that he is still wearing a boot on his left foot and isn't dressed for warmups. Thus, the junior guard won't play Wednesday and that prompts his next opportunity to return to the court Dec. 21 against New Mexico.

Impact Shaver managed to log just eight minutes prior to leaving the previous game versus College of Idaho but appears to be doing better after a couple of days to rest the issue. While confirmation of his status should come at some point prior to the opening tip, he's trending in the right direction leading up to the contest.

Posts double-double off bench Rice posted 16 points (6-10 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 2-2 FT), 12 rebounds, two assists and two steals across 29 minutes off the bench in Friday's 86-49 win over College of Idaho.

Impact Rice came off the bench but still paced the Broncos in minutes played, points and rebounds while tying for the team's lead in assists and posting the second-highest mark in steals. He had scored just five points combined over his first two games of the season, however, so the chances are this performance was more an outlier rather than the norm going forward.

Dealing with foot injury Shaver is dealing with a nagging foot injury that forced him to leave Friday's win over the College of Idaho early, B.J. Rains of the Idaho Press-Tribune reports.

Impact Coach Leon Rice revealed that Shaver was dealing with his injury prior to Friday's contest, but the issue got worse during the game. As a result, he was unable to play late in the blowout win. Rice said that the team likely wouldn't know his status for a few days. It's not yet known whether he'll be ready to play Wednesday against BYU.

Slated to debut Friday Akot (undisclosed) will be available for Friday's game against Montana Western, Jay Tust of KTVB reports.

Impact Akot was in the COVID-19 protocol recently, but he's practiced at full speed over the past two days and is slated to do so again Thursday. Head coach Leon Rice said in late October that he expects Akot to start during his first season with the Broncos, although it's not yet clear what position he'll start at.
