ImpactBates originally suffered the injury in the first half of Wednesday's matchup against Boston College, and while he originally tried to walk it off (and even returned briefly), the sophomore forward was unable to continue. While coach Kevin Keatts doesn't appear to be overly concerned just yet, the team will take a conservative approach and run the appropriate tests to clear Bates of any further concerns. Until the results come in, he should be considered questionable at best for Tuesday's matchup against Clemson. Fortunately for the Wolfpack, DJ Funderburk returned Wednesday and logged 30 minutes off the bench. He and Jericho Hellems will have to serve as the primary forwards until Bates is cleared.

ImpactFunderburk came off the bench but paced the Wolfpack in points while logging the third-most minutes. That should be a good sign for him moving forward, and he might move back to the starting lineup for the team's Jan. 5 matchup at Clemson.
