Instant eligibility with Minnesota Gach has been awarded a waiver from the NCAA for immediate eligibility in the 2020-21 season, Marcus Fuller of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports. Impact This is massive news for the Gophers and all of the Big Ten, as the Utah transfer changes the landscape of the program heading into the season. Minnesota may have lost Daniel Oturu from a season ago, but its retooled entirely via the transfer market, with Gach, Liam Robbins and Brandon Johnson all immediately eligible and all projected to start. As a double-digit contributor with the Utes, Gach gives the Gophers an immediate scoring presence from the wing. He also takes a tremendous amount of pressure off presumed point guard Marcus Carr, as Gach is capable of taking on a point forward role when called upon. He did struggle a bit shooting from distance last season, but the team has plenty of firepower to back him up. Look for Gach to make a big impact in his final two seasons of eligibility.
