On leave of absence Trimble took a leave of absence from the Akron basketball team that began in late-February, George M. Thomas of the Akron Beacon Journal reports. Impact Trimble started the first 22 games he appeared in this season for Akron, averaging 10.6 ppg on 36.2 percent shooting. He was then benched for a Feb. 17 and hasn't appeared since, missing what's now a total of eight games. The absence has ultimately been addition by subtraction for the Zips, who are a perfect 8-0 in that span. While coach John Groce was clear to refer to this as a "leave of absence" and not a suspension, it seems unlikely that it would suddenly end in time for postseason play.
