Impact Thompson recorded his first double-double of the season to help his team earn a fourth consecutive win. He was able to force the defense to respect the interior by feeding Ty Groce on a few dunks in the first half. In the second half, he then capitalized on the collapsed defense to assist teammates in three-point range on three separate occasions. Over his last three appearances, the senior has averaged 9.7 points and 6.3 assists during 36 minutes.

Impact Golden appeared to suffer a lower-body injury in the second half of last week's game against Oklahoma, but it didn't stop him from starting his tenth straight game to begin the season. The Bulldogs have had to count on him more due to other frontcourt injuries, and he's recently answered the call, reaching double figures in four consecutive games and shooting 70.3 percent from the field over that span. Given he recorded nearly a point per minute Saturday, it doesn't appear as if the injury will be slowing him down much.

Impact Saturday's opponent should allow Tate the perfect opportunity to dip his toes into game action for the first time since undergoing knee surgery to address a torn ACL in March. In his first collegiate season last year, Tate posted 6.7 points, 2.5 rebounds and 2.3 assists over 25.2 minutes per game while starting 18 of the 25 contests he appeared in. Tate figures to see his role grow as the season wears on but figures to be limited for a while given the nature of his extended absence.

Impact While it was a relatively normal stat line for Golden, Lukas reported that he did limp to the bench in the second half, and he didn't appear to return later. The broadcast later suggested he was available, so the hope is the injury isn't anything overly serious. Another injury would be devastating for the Bulldogs, as frontcourt mate Bryce Nze has already missed the last five games with a shoulder injury. In the event Golden would have to miss time, Butler would likely go small in the frontcourt, with Ty Groce seeing time at the five. John-Michael Mulloy might also be a depth option, though he's never been a player who has consistently seen double-digit minutes. Butler has a matchup against Eastern Illinois on Saturday next up.

The senior has shown that if he can stay out of foul trouble he can be one of Butler's most impactful players, he has played over 25 minutes in his last two dynamite performances.
