Impact Carr is expected to miss extended time after suffering a left thumb injury during Sunday's 103-68 win over Austin Peay. It's a tough blow for Tennessee as the sophomore guard has averaged 4.8 points in 10.5 minutes per game this season and was looked at as a solid bench piece for the Volunteers. Carr will miss the rest of November and most of December while recovering from the injury, with his first real chance at a return probably coming against Middle Tennessee on December 23.

Impact Carr was not in attendance during Tuesday's practice, and his chances of suiting up during Thursday's game against UVA seem slim. The 6-foot-6 sophomore has started to carve out a small role for himself, seeing an average of 10.5 minutes per game across the Volunteers first four outings, but this hand injury will likely be a setback for the young forward.
