Could play center Mississippi State coach Chris Jans said Thursday that Matthews could play small-ball center due to limited bodies in the frontcourt, Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports reports.
Impact Jimmy Bell, who transferred over from West Virginia, is expected to start alongside Matthews in the frontcourt this season. However, the 6-foot-7 Matthews could see some time as Mississippi State's lone big man.
