Returns to starting lineup Tuesday Cooper posted three points (1-1 FG, 1-2 FT), seven rebounds, one assist, one block and one steal across 29 minutes during Tuesday's 70-57 loss to Wisconsin.

Impact Cooper contributed three points and seven rebounds in his return to the starting lineup Tuesday, as MSU was defeated by Wisconsin. The 6-foot-11 sophomore has bounced between a rotational role and starting spot to open the 2023 season as the Spartans see what works best. Through eight appearances (four starts), Cooper has averaged 3.4 points, six rebounds and 1.3 blocks on 19.4 minutes per game.

Rolling off bench Tuesday Cooper will not be in the starting lineup in Tuesday's game against Georgia Southern according to coach Tom Izzo, Kyle Austin of MLive.com reports.

Impact Cooper will slide back to the bench in favor of senior Mady Sissoko. Cooper had started the last three games but had played about the same amount of time as when he came off the bench in the first three contests. Expect him around his 18.2 MPG on Tuesday.

Impact To the surprise of few, Mady Sissoko started the contest at center for Michigan State. What was a bit surprising was that Cooper out-produced five-star freshman Xavier Booker off the bench. When it was all said and done, Cooper saw the most minutes out of any reserve player and tied Tyson Walker for the team lead in scoring. It's only one game, and the caliber of competition should be taken into account, but Cooper could be carving out a rotation spot for himself, especially with fellow forward Jaxon Kohler (foot) expected to be out until Christmas.
