Without the senior point guard available down the stretch, look for Justin Moore to spend more time on the ball and Brandon Slater to potentially join the starting five. Gillespie will have the option to return to Villanova for 2021-22 should he choose to do so.

MRI set for Thursday Villanova head coach Jay Wright announced via his personal Twitter account that Gillespie (knee) will undergo an MRI on Thursday.
Impact Villanova claimed its seventh Big East title with a 72-60 win over Creighton on Wednesday, but the accomplishment was somewhat soured by Gillespie's early exit in the first half due to what appeared to be a fairly significant left knee injury. Gillespie required assistance as he limped to the locker room after suffering the injury, and he was spotted on the bench in the second half using crutches to move around, according to C.J. Holmes of The Athletic. The MRI should shed more light on the extent of Gillespie's injury, but it's possible the star senior point guard may have played his last game in a Villanova uniform. At the very least, expect him to miss Saturday's regular-season finale at Providence, which should free up more ball-handling opportunities for Justin Moore as well as center Jeremiah Robinson-Earl, who finished with five assists in Wednesday's win.
