Knee injury appears serious Head coach Jay Wright said Wednesday he believes Gillespie's knee injury is "serious," Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports reports. Impact Gillespie suffered the injury during the first half of Wednesday's game against Creighton while contesting a shot on defense. With just one regular season game remaining, Gillespie's loss would be a huge blow to Villanova's postseason hopes. The extent of the knee injury is currently unknown, but since it's believed to be serious, Gillespie seems unlikely to take the floor again this season. While he's out, the team will look to Justin Moore to conduct the offense, and Bryan Antoine could take on more work as the next man up off the bench. With championship experience under his belt, Gillespie served as one of the team's senior leaders, averaging 13.9 points, 4.6 assists, 3.3 rebounds and 0.9 steals over 33.4 minutes per game this season.
