Tru Washington - Adds 14 off benchWashington registered 14 points (6-9 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 1-1 FT), three rebounds and one block over 21 minutes during Wednesday's 82-56 victory over Air Force.
ImpactDue to a blowout, the freshman from Phoenix saw more minutes Tuesday and he took advantage of his increased time, finishing with 14 points while shooting 66.7 percent from the field. Washington is the Lobos' most effective scorer coming off the bench this season, averaging 7.3 points, 3.3 rebounds and 1.2 assists per game with shooting splits of 44.2/29.7/67.2. Expect the young guard to continue producing off the bench as New Mexico takes on Nevada in the second-round of the Mountain West Tournament on Thursday.

JT Toppin - Shows out vs. Air ForceToppin notched 18 points (8-12 FG, 1-1 3Pt, 1-1 FT), 11 rebounds, one assist, one block and two steals over 23 minutes during Wednesday's 82-56 victory over Air Force.
ImpactThe freshman forward added another double-double to his resume during Tuesday's win, bringing his season total up to 11 (with three in his last seven outings). Toppin has been a crucial piece of this Lobos team throughout the year, averaging 12.8 points, 8.8 rebounds and 1.9 blocks per game while appearing in all 32 of New Mexico's games. The Lobos could be on the outside looking in when it comes to the NCAA Tournament, so a win Thursday against Boise State would really help the team's chances of making it for first time since 2014.
