Still awaiting waiver Franklin remains without an eligibility waiver for the 2022-23 season, Jason Munz of The Memphis Commercial Appeal reports. Impact Franklin transferred to Memphis this offseason, which will be his third school in as many collegiate seasons. NCAA rules required a waiver after the first transfer, but getting that waiver has hardly been difficult for other players in similar situations. While the exact reason is unclear, Franklin believes his old team, Illinois-Chicago, has something to do with blocking the paperwork necessary to gain clearance. Franklin could make an immediate impact for the Tigers after averaging 17.8 ppg in the Missouri Valley last year, but this situation will need to be resolved prior to the Nov. 7 opener against Vanderbilt.
